Fun baby shower games to kickstart the party
1. Guess the Baby
Guess the Baby is a really popular baby shower game. It’s a great way to bring laughter and nostalgia to your event as guests reminisce about their own baby days while trying to match the adorable baby photos to their adult counterparts.
You’ll need:
- Baby photos of the guests
- Numbered cards or sticky notes
- Pens or markers
- A large poster board or a wall where you can display the baby photos
Instructions:
It’s time to get organised! Collect baby photos from all the guests attending the shower. Ensure each photo is anonymous and unnamed, and assign a number to each photo. Write these numbers on sticky notes or small cards and place the numbered baby photos on a large poster board or a wall in a random order.
Hand out guessing sheets and pens to the guests. Ask guests to examine the baby photos and write down their guesses next to the corresponding numbers on their guessing sheets.
Why not set a time limit? If you’ve got a busy day planned, you might want to give guests a specific amount of time to make their guesses, perhaps 15-20 minutes. Once the time is up, it’s time to reveal the correct answers. Have each guest announce their guesses and check the baby photos to see how many they got right.

2. What’s in the Nappy? – Gross edition!
Get ready for some hilariously icky fun with the baby shower game “What’s in the Nappy”! It’s a fantastic way to bring laughter and camaraderie to the celebration while giving everyone a taste of the humorous side of parenting!
You’ll need:
- Nappies (number of nappies depends on the number of players)
- Various “gross” items
Instructions:
It’s time to get creative and prepare the messy nappies! Grab a bunch of nappies and give each one a number. Fill the nappies with gooey, funky, and strangely realistic “poo” substances. Think melted chocolate, mashed bananas, gooey peanut butter, or spicy curry paste. Secure each nappy so the contents don’t leak out.
Challenge your guests to put their noses to the test. They’ll have to unleash their inner detective and sniff their way through the nappies to guess what’s lurking inside. It’s a stinky situation turned into a side-splitting game!
Provide scorecards or sheets for guests to write down their guesses for each nappy. Once everyone has made their guesses, reveal the actual contents of each nappy one by one. Prepare for laughter and squeals of delight as guests discover the hilarious and “gross” surprises.
3. Baby Shower Bingo Game
This fun baby shower game is a brilliant way to engage your guests and a great icebreaker for guests who might not know each other very well.
You’ll need:
- Bingo cards with pre-printed baby-related items (You can find printable bingo cards online or create your own)
- Markers or bingo chips for each guest
Instructions:
Designate a bingo caller and before the mama-to-be dives into a mountain of baby shower gifts, hand out a baby bingo card and marker to each guest. These cards hold the keys to a mysterious world of baby shower presents. As she unwraps her gifts, keep your eyes peeled for the items listed on your card. The first person to cross out a diagonal, vertical, or horizontal line and shout “bingo” is the winner!
Key tip: make sure your bingo cards are all different so each guest has a one-of-a-kind mission!
4. Guess the Due Date Game
The “Guess the Due Date” is a fun way to loop all your guests in for the big countdown to the baby’s arrival.
You’ll need:
- Calendar or a due date prediction sheet
- Stickers or adhesive notes
- Markers
Instructions:
Before the baby shower, create a calendar or due date prediction sheet of the month leading up to the due date. You can create your own or find one online. Think of it as a lovely keepsake for years to come – you get some lovely ones from Etsy.
Place a sticker on the calendar to mark the baby’s actual due date, and have each guest write their name on the day they think the baby will be born. Now, it’s time to wait for the big day, and once the baby is born, you can announce the winner.
5. Baby Food Taste Test Game
Get ready for a taste adventure with the “Baby Food Taste Test” game. It’s a wild ride through the world of baby purées, from the sweet embrace of banana to the daring duo of chicken and rice. Yum!
You’ll need:
- Assorted jars of baby food
- Blank sheets of paper or scorecards
- Pens or markers
Instructions:
It’s time to get shopping for baby food jars in various flavours and remove the labels or cover them up so the ingredients are kept top secret.
Take a bite of the mystery purées and let your taste buds do the talking! Grab your game card and jot down your boldest guesses. Is it pear or peas? Sweet potato or squash? The more you guess, the better your chances! Along with guessing, have guests rate each baby food on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the most delicious and 1 being the least.
After everyone has had a chance to taste and guess the baby foods, reveal the actual flavours. The guest with the most spot-on guesses gets crowned the ultimate baby food connoisseur!
6. Baby Bottle Bowling Game
Baby Bottle Bowling is a rollicking game that’ll have everyone aiming for strikes and spares with baby bottles instead of pins!
You’ll need:
- Empty, clean baby bottles (one per player or team)
- Small, soft balls or stuffed animals
- A smooth playing surface
Instructions:
Let’s roll into the world of Baby Bottle Bowling! In this fun baby shower game, each bowler will step up to the plate, armed with a small ball or a fluffy stuffed animal. Their mission? To knock down those lined-up baby bottle pins with a single, well-aimed roll. It’s a one-shot wonder, and every bottle they topple earns them points. A strike – clearing the whole setup in one roll – brings bonus points.
After each round, the spotlight shifts to the next player or team, keeping the fun rolling. When all’s said and done, the player or team with the highest score claims victory.
