The Singapore Team has hit the target for SEA Game on the final day with a
surge in Gold Medals.
6 Gold medals, including Water Polo and the Table Tennis Men and Women Singles
Gold, were captured on the final day. Singapore ended sixth on the table with
a respectable 51 Gold Medals for the games.
Fencing – Women’s Epee Team
The women’s fencers have done it again. They won the Women’s Epee to add to
the Foil crown.
Floorball – Women’s Team
The women’s team continued their dominance with their third win in third
appearance at th Games.
Table Tennis – Izaac Quek (Men’s Single)
The young upstart to Singapore Table Tennis delivers. Despite a tender age of
16, he outfoxed his Vietnamese opponent to win a decisive 4-0. The one to
watch for the future!
Table Tennis – Zeng Jian ( Women’s Singles)
She played in 4 table tennis finals in the SEA games and lost all of them.
This is the fifth time lucky but it does not come easy. Despite leading 3-0,
the opponent fought back to a 3-3 draw. They were neck to neck until the final
score at 11-9.
Water Polo – Men’s Team
The Gold returns to Singapore. After an upset by Indonesia 4 years ago, the
Men’s Water Polo team bounce back in style, winning all the matches en route
to victory.
