We have not explored new running routes for a while. With the long weekend, we took the opportunity to run on Tanjong Rhu Park Connector.
Tanjong Rhu Promenade coastline. It extends all the way to
Geylang Park Connector. The entire route is about 2km.

We are doing a loop from Benjamin Sheares Bridge to Tanjong Rhu Lookout for
this run. The total distance for this run is about 3.3km. Most runners would
usually run in the other direction towards Bay East Gardens, so this is a
relatively quiet route.

You could run more towards Geylang Park Connector or extend your run to Bay
East Gardens to make your runs longer.
The Run

| Golden Mile |
The first thing that will catch your eye is the Golden Mile Complex across the
river. The iconic triangular structure always reminds me of Spiderman. It
would not be hard to imagine Spiderman scaling this building.

| Singaproe Indoor Stadium |
Running after the bend, another iconic building- Singapore indoor stadium
comes into sight.

| Exercise Machine |
You would run past a set of exercise machines.
|
Across the road is a large field where you would see people playing a game of
cricket or football.
|
This stretch of road is shaded and pleasant to run. If you are up early, you
can catch the sunrise from here.

After this part would be Pebble Bay, a row of river fronting condominiums. If
you are looking for a ‘seaview’ unit, this would be one of the best places to
live.

Along the way, you might spot some water activities at Geylang River.
After a loop around the promenade, you will reach the Tanjong Rhu Pier.

If you need a break, stopping at the Tanjong Rhu Lookout Tower would be good
to watch the world go by.

If you want a longer run, keep running towards Geylang Park Connector.

As this is a loop run, you can run back to the starting point from here.

Getting there
The route would be easier to access from Stadium MRT. In the future, Tanjong
Rhu MRT can be another alternative as it is just at the doorstep of Tanjong
Rhu Lookout. There is parking near the Benjamin Sheares Bridge along Rhu Cross
for those driving.
