“I’ve known Rachel Riley for a long time and have been dressing all my children in her beautiful traditional clothes for over 13 years. Nobody does it better! With the Coronation on the horizon, I wanted to catch up with her to talk about everything from how she started over 25 years ago to the impact it has on her brand when royalty wears her clothing. Finally, we talked about the business and her advice to budding entrepreneurs.” – Leo Bamford.

About Rachel Riley

Rachel Riley is an award-winning British brand based in London which has been dressing royal babies and children for over 25 years. Rachel Riley grew up in London and has enjoyed a lifelong passion for the classic designs and glamorous style of the 50s and 60s.

A designer and pattern-cutter, Rachel created her brand in 1998 when her three children were young, designing and making clothes for family and friends. Her collections are sold worldwide online and in leading department stores, independent shops and luxury websites. Traditional craftsmanship techniques are used throughout, such as hand embroidery, hand smocking and hand-worked intarsia using the softest, finest fabrics and yarns. Many of the prints are exclusive and designed in-house and their fine party shoes are produced in Rachel’s atelier in the Loire Valley, France.

With Rachel’s initiative, energy and creative flair, the company has flourished & grown from a small mail-order business to a globally-recognised brand, enjoying a reputation for classic, beautifully designed, well-made clothes, all with her personal quest for style, quality and value.
