Time to get started on some Valentines crafts. Our first one of the year, paper plate threaded hearts, is a nice simple, but sweet one that is good for developing fine motor skills.

You will need:
- Paper plates
- Acrylic paint
- Paint brush
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Wool
- Hole punch
On the back of the paper plate draw a heart shape and then cut it out.
Next use your hole punch to make holes around the heart shape.
Then paint the front of your paper place, we only painted the rim of ours, but there is nothing stopping you from painting all of it. I recommend using acrylic paint as it sticks to the paper plate better than poster paint.
When the paint has dried use some wool to thread between the holes and tape the ends to the back.
Finally cover the painted part with a layer of PVA glue to give it a nice shine.
Don’t worry we won’t leave the plates there once Baby B has arrived.
We made our ones to hang in Baby B’s room to show him how much he is loved (even though he isn’t here yet). EC and YC loved the idea of making their first craft for him.
