Village Hotel Sentosa Review 2022 : Perfect Staycation for family! | The Wacky Duo

Looking for a family staycation?

We have the perfect location for you if you plan a family staycation for this
upcoming holiday.

For families with 2 children, finding a hotel that accommodates 4 in a room
can be challenging. This is especially so when you need everyone in the same
room due to age and family bonding. Moreover, you would like to be in a
location where attractions are nearby.

Our favourite staycation destination is Sentosa. While we did manage to find
such rooms in the past at
Sofitel Sentosa
and
Equarius Hotel
,

prices had increased significantly to above $2000+ for a 3 Days 2, Nights
stay. So when we heard Village Hotel Sentosa reopened its doors for
staycation after 2 years haitus for under $800, it was a no-brainer
since we had not stayed in the hotel before.

Book your stay at
Village Hotel Sentosa here!

Village Hotel Sentosa

Village Hotel Sentosa

Village Hotel Sentosa opened its doors back in 2019. However, due to Covid, it
was shut down for a period and converted into a community care facility. With
the phasing out of Covid measures, Village Hotel Sentosa reopens its door to
the public. Village Hotel Sentosa is managed by Fare East and shares
facilities with The Outpost and The barracks.

Location

Village Hotel has the (almost) perfect location in Sentosa. It is located
right smack in the middle of everywhere with walking distance to Resort World
Sentosa and just a stone throw away from the monorail.

The Mess Hall

The hotel is also located opposite the Mess Hall, which houses a few
restaurants and a convenient 7-Eleven.

Check-in

Check in Counter Village Hotel

Checking in was a breeze. The first hint that it is a family hotel is the
dedicated counter for kids to check in on the family’s behalf. In reality, it
is a tad gimmicky, but if you have younger kids, they would love to climb up
the steps and check in with you.

The next thing you notice will be the snacks cart. Every day, the cart will be
refilled with different snacks for the guests. Snacks are free and a hit with
kids!

The Rooms

We chose the Family Room for our accommodation. The Family Room combines 2
King beds or 1 King and Twin Bed. The room size is 36m2. You can also opt for the bigger Deluxe family room that comes in at 44m2

This combination is perfect for families of 3-5. The room is essentially 2
adjoining rooms combined into 1. While the size is not big, smart design and
planning can partition the rooms into separate sleeping and changing areas.

Bathroom amenities are provided together with a mini-fridge and
coffee/tea maker.

Coffee and tea are not provided in the rooms. Instead, you can get them from
the common area at the lift lobby of every floor. There is a wide choice of
tea and coffee to pick from. Ice and drinking water are also available in the
common area.

Both rooms are ensuite, and this means more bathrooms for everyone. The toilet
bowl deserves mention as it is similar to the high-end ones you would find in
Japan. Yes, those toilet bowls that come with a washlet and more.

Each room comes with a 49-inch interactive Smart TV with cable channels. There
is also a ledge under the TV that can convert to a desk if necessary. Overall
the room was clean, modern and functional.

Our view from the room was nothing to shout about, but rooms facing the pools
would have a better view.

The facilities

From the lobby, make your way up to what makes Village hotel Sentosa Special!

FIVE Swimming Area

Main pool Village Hotel Sentosa

At the exit, you will see not one but 5 different pools. For families, pool is
the number one priority in any hotel. With a total of 5 pools, you are
practically spoilt for choice.

Kids Pool and Playground

Children pool

The children’s pool is just next to the playground. There are some water
features and small slides there.

Children Playground

TWO Main Pools

Main Pool

The  2 main pools are located in the centre. We reckon that they are big
enough to fit 20 pax per pool. These are free-form pools, more for leisurely
swimming than laps. The pools here are about 0.95m in depth.

Main Pool

Pool with a View

If you intend to do laps, there is a deeper pool facing the South China Sea.
Here you get a viewof the sea while soaking in the sun.

Lazy River

For those who prefer to take it easy, there is a lazy river pool ala Adventure
Cove. Floats are provided if you want a ride.

Gym

There is a gym for those who prefer a different kind of workout. There are
more treadmills than weights there.

Playtivities

There are various activities at Village Hotel for the family. For young and
old, they can participate in Village Playtivities such as becoming a Mini
Housekeeper or Tote Bag Painting. Older folks can join in Aqua Zumba or have a
movie night by the pool with the family.

Native Kitchen

If you opt for rooms with breakfast, you will have it at Native Kitchen

Breakfast was a decent spread of International and Local dishes such as Nasi
Lemak. It has been a while since we had a buffet-style meal, so it was
pleasantly good.

Over the past 2 days of our stay, the menu did have some changes from one day
to another.

Nasi Lemak

Do be early for breakfast if you would like to have a table at the main hall.

Supply Depot

If you are still hungry, there is a supply deport to stock up on your food and
drinks. However, with 7-eleven right across from the hotel, you might want to
head there instead to pick up your bites.

There are plenty more things to do around Sentosa, such as a visit to
Universal Studios, dining at RWS or even a luge ride. These activities and the
facilities at Village Hotel Sentosa should keep you occupied. Overall, we had
a good stay at Village Hotel Sentosa and would love to come back again
sometime!

* Hotel rates are 30% cheaper at Klook without breakfast
